David Wright: The Headless Cross Potter
David Wright is a studio potter based in Redditch. Born and brought up in Cleethorpes, he studied at Grimsby School of Art in the mid-1980s. He gained a first class honours degree from Wolverhampton Polytechnic before postgraduate study for a Master’s Degree in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art during which time he completed a placement at Wedgwood.
In terms of describing my work, what I’ve tried to do is to use different forms and look at the juxtaposition of those forms; so there are issues with proportion, with position and how forms are orientated with each other, all based around the idea of the ceramic vessel.
